Is this kind of thing even news anymore?

I'm shocked! SHOCKED, I Say!

A Roman Catholic Bishop wanted on kiddie porn charges. Who would have thought? Why, oh why, can't I be as moral as these Christians? Please Christians, teach me how to be as moral as you! I am clearly lost, and need guidance to more effectively behave badly now and ask for forgiveness later.

And to you people who think this guy is going to have eternal bliss and I'm going to be eternally tortured, go fuck yourselves.

As an added note, "The former leader of the diocese of Antigonish is perhaps best known as the man who helped broker a $15-million settlement with people who said they had been sexually abused by priests in the diocese, in some cases dating back to 1950. That settlement was approved by a Nova Scotia court on Sept. 10."

Maybe we're all wrong, and this is what God means when he says love your fellow man.

This really is a result of enforced celibacy isn't it? It must play havoc with fully grown men who, deprived of the chance ever to 'know' someone in the biblical sense, have responsibility over youngsters and yet have the sexual development of a pre-adolescent...
If you think I'm trying to justify it, don't worry I'm not, just trying to show how perfectly disgusting the idea of celibate 'purity' is...

Reason Must Triumph

Naw, this isn't news. A couple years ago they found a preist at what used to be my church masturbating. Yeah... But it makes sense; he was Catholic.

Has anyone stopped going to a hospital as a result of an individual doctor being convicted for child pornography? it makes my church look terrible but recognize its the act of an individual and not the congregation. Recent statistics show teachers are more likely to molest children yet you hear nothing about stopping children from going to school because ONE teacher was found guilty. This is not part of catholic teaching, it's the act of a stupid individual who deserves eternal punishment. I think everyone agrees with me that it would be better for that eternal punishment to exist for people like this. And no, celibacy has nothing to do with it. It has been proven with recent research that regular sexually active people are just as likely to commit these hideous crimes.

NOT the point. Did the hospital cover up multiple abuses for decades, transferring the doctors, not informing the police, then act like they were the victims when caught? If so, yes, people would be wary of hospitals. But they'd probably still go, because unlike churches, hospitals have a proven track record of saving people.

I DO NOT agree. Eternal punishment for finite crimes is immoral, and your Christian doctrine is immoral.

Also, are hospitals places that people go for lessons on (supposed) morality? Your comparison sucks and is off the mark in several ways.
